Folks send what they need done after answering some basic questions, which are included below, and vallmark* provides an estimate within 24 hours.
- Standard proofreading rates are $50 an hour, with editing and writing being more, typically on a per project basis based the specific project scope, between $60 and $75.
- Professional resumes are a flat rate of $100. Based on how much work needs to be done, a resume in need of minor update, i.e. adding one to two new positions, would usually cost between $25 and $50.
We are very flexible in terms of work arrangements via electronic methods, phone, mail, or in person.
Below are the questions we ask when getting started:
- What is your business name (if applicable) and detailed contact information? (Include your e-mail address, mailing address, phone number and extension).
- Who is the project contact person? Please provide his or her contact information if different from above.
- What is the name of the document(s) or manuscript?
- How do you prefer to exchange materials (i.e. e-mail, snail mail)?
- Describe the project(s) (i.e. project objectives, approximate word or page count, desired length, print or electronic) and the specific services you require. What is the purpose of the piece, or the objective/career goal for the resume?
- Is the material ready? If not, when will it be ready? Be sure to include a sample with your order or request for an estimate, if applicable.
- What is the deadline (or the desired turnaround time)?
- Do you need us to use a particular dictionary and style guide as primary references? If you use a house style, please remember to provide us with a copy.
- Do you prefer us to do the work on-screen or on hard copy (paper)?
